NICUの概略

NICU病室

新生児集中治療室（NICU: neonatal intensive care unit）は人工呼吸管理，栄養管理，外科手術などが必要な病的新生児が入院する病棟です．当院では年間200名前後のハイリスク新生児が入院されます．東京医大NICUは東京都の周産期医療システムが開始された当初よりそのネットワークに参加し，東京都地域周産期センターの一つとして当院産婦人科（母体・胎児専門医指定研修施設）と共に東京都および近隣県の周産期医療発展に貢献してきました．胎児診断（羊水染色体検査，超音波断層法，胎児MRIなど）により胎児期から病児の管理を行い，退院後は小児神経専門医とともに神経・運動発達の長期フォローアップを行っています．

最近の臨床研究として，超音波断層法を用いた心機能評価，近赤外線分光法（NIRO）を用いた脳循環・代謝評価，フリーラジカル自動分析装置を用いた酸化ストレス測定，PCR法を用いた周産期感染症の診断，呼吸機能マーカーを用いた呼吸障害重症度予測などを行っています．また，基礎研究として新生仔ラットを用いた新生児低酸素性虚血性脳症に対する薬物療法など，臨床へのフィードバックが期待される内容の動物実験を行っています．これらの研究成果は日本小児科学会，日本周産期・新生児医学会，日本未熟児新生児学会，その他の専門学会や国際学会等での報告や各種学会誌への誌上報告として活発に発表しています．

当施設は周産期・新生児専門医の基幹認定施設であるため，ここでの研修により周産期・新生児専門医の習得が可能です．また，現在のスタッフは全員，日本赤十字社医療センターや葛飾赤十字産院で臨床研修を行っていますが，さらに東京女子医科大学循環器小児科（心臓病センター），大阪府立母子保健センターで経験を積むなど，より高度の知識・技術の向上に努めており，最先端の周産期医療を実践しています．
