TOKYO MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

Premed Division
In 1986 the curriculum was revised to form a 6-year integrated curriculum. The new integrated curriculum combines science courses with content necessary for the study of medicine with language study, also oriented towards medical studies m order to construct an over all curriculum suited to medical students. However , in addition, in order to induce motivation for students in medical school at an early age to develop their interest in medicine, even from the first year of the 6-year course, students are studying anatomy, introduction to medicine and medical communications courses and are also taking part in group studies and advanced union course, as shown in the curriculum chart. Most of the preclinical subject lectures and practical sessions are held in the east Okubo campus while clinical training takes place in the Nishishinjuku hospital.
